Function of Gear oil: The meshing of metal gears subjects the gear tooth surfaces to high pressures and impact. Gear oil forms an oil film and special coating on the tooth surfaces to reduce the pressure and impact to prevent gear wear and seizure. It also protects the tooth surface from rusting.
Lubrication
Gear oil forms an oil film and special coating on the gear tooth meshing surfaces to prevent direct contact of the gear teeth to prevent wear and seizure.
Impact Absorption
The action of the special extreme pressure additive absorbs shock and smoothes out power transmission even when a large force is applied to the gear tooth surfaces.
