arranged in a horizontal-vertical layout of functional simplicity that makes it
easy to understand vehicle tilt when driving off-road, brings the superior

Performance
Multi-terrain Select
<p>By choosing one of the four drive modes offered by the
multi-information switch on the steering wheel, this revolutionary system lets
you obtain the optimum traction you need to handle slippery surfaces like
mud/sand and loose rock, or non-slippy surfaces like mogul and
rock.</p>
Multi-terrain ABS
<p>Multi-terrain ABS operates in synch with Multi-terrain Select,
automatically regulating ABS operation to suit off-road driving conditions such
as mud and sand. With normal ABS activated in on-road driving, EBD helps provide
balanced braking regardless of the occupant/cargo load.</p>
Multi-terrain Monitor
<p>Four cameras, mounted on front, rear, and side of vehicle, enable
the Multi-terrain Monitor to display six different views of the terrain outside.
The system supports you by enabling you to see the surrounding conditions even
when cresting a hill or driving on extremely uneven ground that makes it
difficult to see the terrain directly. Switching between the various views is
easily effected via the multi-information switch. On the forward view, on-screen
indicators show the current direction of travel.</p>
Steering Angle Display
<p>The Multi-information display also shows the vehicle's wheel angle
in real time, enabling visual confirmation of steering direction to help you
stay on track and out of trouble - even when traveling over rough countryside
that makes it easy to lose sight of surrounding conditions and where you're
headed.</p>
Crawl Control <5-speed>
<p>Crawl Control provides optimal throttle and brake control,
maintaining a constant low speed to support safe, sure driving on sand, dirt,
rock, snow, mud, steep grade, or other surfaces that require fine accelerator
control. Five speeds are offered, with fully automatic throttle and brake
control that frees you to concentrate on steering the vehicle. On models without
Crawl Control, Hill-start Assist Control and Downhill Assist Control fully
support Prado's driving performance.</p>
Land Cruiser Prado Frame
<p>The rigidity, strength, and durability of the Prado frame have been
advanced by reinforcing the frame cross-section to secure superior torsional and
flexural rigidity. (KDSS frame shown)</p>
Suspension System
<p>Electronically modulated rear air suspension maintains a constant
vehicle height irrespective of the number or occupants or amount of cargo.
Height is adjustable by switch operation. Additionally, AVS regulates the
damping force of the shock absorbers according to driver input and road
conditions. A choice of comfort, Normal, and Sports modes is
offered.</p>
Full-time 4WD System
<p>An easy-to-use dual-type transfer switch*2 lets you shift smoothly
between low-range and high-range drive. There are also differential lock
switches that let you lock the center and rear differentials.</p><br

Air Conditioning
<p>Fully automatic air conditioning with dial-type controls offers
3-zone independent temperature adjustment (driver's seat, front passenger's
seat, rear seats). A pollen removal mode also helps reduce pollen and fine dust
in the cabin, while the independent rear seat temperature controls enable
everyone aboard to be more comfortable.</p>
Comfortable Seat Heaters
<p>Temperature-adjustable heaters in the front seats gently warm your
shoulders, lower back, and legs. Even when you're using the air conditioning,
the additional heat on your back and shoulders can help you enjoy a mora

Smart Entry & Start System
<p>With the Smart key, you can unlock and lock the doors just by

Safety
Vehicle Stability Control
<p>When driving on slippery road surface, VSC(Vehicle Stability
Control) enhances vehicle stability by controlling engine output and braking at
each wheel if sensors detect an abrupt steering operation or lateral slipping of
the vehicle.</p>
Adaptive Front-lighting System & High-intensity Discharge Lamps
<p>AFS effectively illuminate the road ahead by aiming the headlamps to
the left or right in response to steering angle and vehicle speed. Together with
auto leveling and the use of powerful HID lamps that offer excellent coverage,
it helps improve nighttime visibility.</p>
Pre-crash Safety System
<p>When a collision is judged imminent due to sensor detection of an
obstacle on the road ahead, the system alerts the driver by beeping and
displaying a warning message. If the driver performs emergency braking,
Pre-crash Brake Assist is activated to bolster braking
force.</p><p>When the system judges a collision to be unavoidable,
Pre-crash Brakes operate to reduce the speed of collision, and tension on
Pre-crash Seatbelts is increased to contribute to higher occupant protection

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control System
<p>Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is an advanced system that enhances
driving safety and convenience. When traveling at a preset cruising speed, it
uses millimeter wave radar to detect and monitor the vehicle ahead, regulating
speed as needed to maintain a driver-defined following distance (long, medium,
or short), and returning to the preset cruising speed when it detects that the
vehicle ahead has changed lanes.</p><p>(Optional on automatic
transmission models with 1GR-FE or 1KD-FTV engine.)</p>
Active Headrests
<p>In the event of rear-end collision, front seats with active
headrests contribute to reduction of neck impact by moving the headrest
diagonally upwards to simultaneously cushion the head and back.</p>
Crush Safety
<p>An energy-absorbing body structure contributes to a higher level of
crash safety performance by effectively absorbing impact energy the front,
slide, or rear.</p>
Pedestrian Protection
<p>The impact-absorbing structure of the hood, fenders, and other
components helps enhance safety performance in accidents involving
pedestrians.</p>
